I research how we can develop and use AI and machine learning tools to learn things about people based on what they write in various settings. I've used computational methods to study how language use is related to things like personal values, everyday activities, optimism, mental health, cultural background, and population. While most of my work can be categorized as using Natural Language Processing tools to solve Computational Social Science or Computational Linguistics problems, I'm also interested in ethical implications of AI/NLP technology and AI education.
I received my PhD from the University of Michigan where I was a member of the LIT Lab. Go Blue!News
